From the oldest vines garnacha to the most delicate pinots, and from our steepest slopes to our most levelled terraces, our vineyards offer a wide arrange of soils and slopes.
Rising up around the village of Capçanes, on steep slopes and terraces, our vines are protected by the mountain range of Llaberia. We work predominantly with our two indigenous varietals Garnacha Negra and Cariñena of high altitude and low yielding mostly bush vines. Some of them are up to 110 years old. On mineral stony Slate, Limestone and Clay soils our vines are developing highly concentrated fruit intensity and a unique flavour profile.
Our wines personality and character comes defined by the variety of soils that we have here at Capçanes. From the freshness of our limestone to the fruit of our clay, going through the mineral slate and without forgetting the vigorous deserts of our sandy parcels; our vines are found in a wide arrange of soils and slopes that provide complexity and depth to our wines.
Cherry intense color. On the palate, this Garnacha shows more of the darker fruits and is characteristic for its mineral traits, with notes of grafite, and wet pebbles. Tannins are quite present, yet ripe on a full body. Balsamic and herbal long finish.
Accepts all types of pairings, but considering its special traits coming from the Slate soil, we highly recommend opening this wine with red meats. Steaks, tuna tartars, cod and mushroom rissottos are great choices to pair with this Garnacha.
Medium deep ruby color. Fresh forest fruit aromas on the nose. On the palate, this Garnacha overflows with ripe red fruit notes: Strawberries, red currant, cherries, raspberries; all this in a mellow soft medium body where the tannins are very well integrated.
This seductive and fruity Garnacha from Sand soils finds its perfect fit with soft cheese tables, mild curries, baked zuccinis and pasta. Although, we also suggest to give it a try with local Mediterranean plates such as your classic paella and goat cheese salads.
Intense cherry colour. This is a really complex wine with very marked notes of forest undergrowth and tannins that “stick” in the mouth. A truly wild Wine!
Garnatxa is a very versatile grape when it comes to pairings, and this is no exception. Although, considering the intensity and fuller body this Garnacha from Clay soil offers, we suggest you open it with grilled meats, lamb, casseroles and stews.
Medium cherry color. Floral and red fruit aromas on the nose. On the palate it emphasizes those fragrant floral notes that stand out over the cherries and red currant. The acidity this wine holds keeps it fresh and vibrant.
The freshness and acidity from this Garnacha of Limestone soil is beautifully paired with duck, venison and pork roasted plates, where the acidity cuts nicely through the fat of this plates. Honey roasted veggies and cremes are outstanding companions as well.
